If you see three of the red light on, than you are
facing the so called “Red Ring of Death? problem. As any other problem it is
not that hard to fix by yourself.

The Xbox 360 three
flashing lights are one of the most common and famous technical problems of the
Xbox 360.

It indicates that there is a general hardware malfunction with your
console. The nickname for it (and yes, it happens often enough that the
videogame community has a nickname for it), is the red ring of death.

When it happens, 3 of
the 4 green lights around the power button go red and start to flash. The
console stops working and it won’t let you play games, DVDs or perform any of
the normal Xbox 360 console features.

What caused the red ring error on the xbox 360.

Congratulations, you have just joined the thirty per cent of Xbox 360 owners who are experiencing the red ring problem.  This problem is very apparent when the screen turns blue and the message to contact xbox support or a disk read error will appear.  You will also have the 3 flashing red rings instead of the normal green rings around the power button.
